NATIONAL NARCOTICS AGENCY COLLABORATION STRATEGY IN COMBATING DRUG ABUSE IN MEDAN CITY

Abstract

This study uses descriptive qualitative research. This research was conducted in December. Meanwhile, the subjects in this study were parties related to the National Narcotics Agency Collaboration Strategy in overcoming drug abuse in Medan City. Data would be collected through in-depth interviews with selected participants. Participants were selected through purposive sampling techniques to ensure that they had knowledge and experience relevant to the collaboration. The results of this study showed The strategy of the National Narcotics Agency of North Sumatra Province (BNNP) in eradicating drugs in Medan City is through the Outreach Program or raids on drug addicts and rehabilitation. The North Sumatra BNNP also explained that in 2022 the North Sumatra BNNP has a rehabilitation program for 1000 people who have been proven to be drug users. With this program, it is hoped that drug trafficking can be controlled gradually and massively. The problem that needs to be addressed by the Medan City government including the Provincial National Narcotics Agency (BNNP). For this reason, fast, responsive and accurate prevention is needed so that drug trafficking can be overcome optimally, including in Medan City.
