Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of tourism development on the social and economic aspects of the community in Pearung Village, Paranginan District, Humbang Hasundutan Regency. The data collection technique in this study was by using interview, observation and documentation techniques to make it easier to find out the impact of tourism development on the social and economic aspects of the community. The results of the study show that increasing tourist visits usually contribute to increasing income from the tourism entrance ticket sector, souvenir parking, swimming pools, cafes. Several informants said that the impact of the development of Geosite Sipincur tourism on income has increased. Businesses such as food stalls, souvenir shops, restaurants, and swimming pools often experience growth. Increased income helps local businesses to grow and create new jobs for the community around tourist attractions. New workers are increasing because most of the people who set up businesses around tourist areas give a good impression during the existence of tourist attractions and the number of people who become unemployed is decreasing, because the tourist attractions that are opened prioritize the local community as business actors in advancing the local community.
